Umoja Animal Rescue Uganda is a community-based animal rescue and sanctuary project operating under Umoja Greenlands. We rescue animals from neglect, abandonment, exploitation, and immediate danger — and provide safety, care, and long-term protection.
🔹 WHO WE ARE
Umoja Animal Rescue Uganda exists to protect animals who would otherwise be invisible.
In Uganda, many animals — companion and farmed alike — face suffering due to poverty, lack of infrastructure, and limited protection systems. We step in where help is missing, offering direct rescue, daily care, and sanctuary rooted in compassion and responsibility.
We believe that care should not depend on species, usefulness, or profit — every sentient life deserves dignity and safety.
🔹 WHAT WE DO
🐶 Animal Rescue
We respond to cases of abandonment, neglect, abuse, and imminent risk, rescuing animals directly from harmful situations.
🏥 Care & Rehabilitation
Rescued animals receive food, shelter, basic medical care, and time to heal — physically and emotionally.
🏡 Sanctuary & Rehoming
When rehoming is possible, we do so responsibly. When it is not, animals are offered lifelong sanctuary.
🌍 Community Engagement
We work with local communities and authorities to promote responsible animal care, coexistence, and long-term solutions.
🔹 WHO WE HELP
We rescue and care for a wide range of animals, including:

• Cats
• Pigs
• Goats
• Chickens
• Ducks
• Other vulnerable animals in need
Our approach is non-discriminatory: care is based on need, not species.
